CNS Mentorship

I am a CNS Supervisor through the American Nutrition Association and I offer  a limited number of self-directed internship opportunities. Sessions will consist of  1 hour weekly mentorship sessions.  I recommend that my mentees get at least 20 to 25 hours per week toward their CNS hours in order to have at least 500 hours by the end of the 6 month period and 1000 hours at the end of the 12 month CNS Clinical Nutrition and Herbal Immersion Program starting January 2024.

A little bit about me: I studied pre-med and environmental science in undergrad at Howard University, followed by a Master’s in Nutrition and Integrative Health with extensive clinical herbalism courses from Maryland University of Integrative Health. As a student I contributed as an intern to Deanna Minnich’s Detox Summit and Food and Spirit Program. I worked both, on and off campus as an intern at the MUIH Natural Care Center as part of my hours towards the CNS certification. I’ve worked in private practice almost a decade, was the District Nutritionist for the Vitamin Shoppe in Hampton Roads, taught as an adjunct Nutrition professor at local colleges , served as the Functional Clinical Nutritionist for two integrative functional medical centers working closely with a team of MD, NP, and PA clinicians to serve individuals using IFM protocols such as Renew, Elimination Diet, and the Bredesen Protocol, as well as working with specialized functional labs . In my own practice, I have extensive experience in working with families with children on the Autism Spectrum , digestive disorders, allergies and food sensitivities, histamine intolerance and MCAS, endocrine disorders , and autoimmunity conditions. I also have extensive training in diabetes, heart failure, and chronic kidney disease care. I continue to learn and stay abreast on the latest nutrition and plant medicine research by participating in continuing education courses and a variety collective programs amongst my peers.

My mentorship provides reviews, guidance, and mentorship around cases , consultations, evaluation, documentation, assessment, lab analysis, nutrition diagnosis, monitoring and creating recommendations and protocols, community nutrition education and client handouts, business development, practice management, and marketing. You’ll have opportunities to get extra CNS hours outside of direct time in one-on-one or group consultations by participating in pre-recorded observation sessions and developing recommendations and protocols for live session appointments. You’ll also learn how to properly appropriate hours for the completion of your CNS tracking form, and education around clinical nutrition subjects with monthly webinars. My mentorship is 100% virtual and mentees get independent/direct experience with some observational hours.

The 3 Month, and 6 Month Packages are available for those who may already be in practice and just need additional hours and guidance. These packages only include weekly one-on-one sessions with Lynise. The CNS Clinical Nutrition and Herbalism Immersion Program starting January 2024 is great for those fresh out of graduate school or almost complete with course work who need the full 1000 hours with overall support in building and scaling their business, practice management including setting up a cash-pay practice and/or getting on insurance panels, one-on-one case support and guidance, and a group learning environment. These plans and programs all offer payment plans. Please email me at info@lyniseperrynutrition.com if you have further questions or to schedule to see if we’ll be a good fit to work together, schedule a 20 minute discovery call.
